The 1920’s saw a housing boom in St. Petersburg. The Historic Old Northeast was no exception to this and many homes in our neighborhood recently turned 100 years old. In a few years many more will reach this milestone. Help the Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association (HONNA) mark this centennial by designing a commemorative banner and garden flag which will be available for purchase in the HONNA Store.
The contest is open now to all who want to submit a design and will run until April 10th. PDF submissions should be sent to Contest@honna.org.
The design should include:
- “Historic Old Northeast” verbiage
- The signature hex block depiction, or the Historic Old Northeast monument
The motif should be suitable for printing a full size (34 inches x 42 inches) nylon banner along with a 12×18 garden flag.
Submissions will be posted on www.HONNA.org and neighbors will be able to vote on their favorite design.
Additionally, we plan to display the finalists’ submissions at the upcoming Art in the Garden Tour April 15 and invite Tour attendees to vote for their favorite design.
The winner will receive a $100 gift card. HONNA will be promoting the winning design on www.honna.org, social media and in the Northeast Journal.
