The 1920’s saw a major housing boom in St. Petersburg. The Historic Old Northeast was no exception and many homes in our neighborhood recently turned 100 years young. Many more homes will be reaching this milestone in the coming years and the Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association (HONNA) wants to mark these centennial homes with a new banner.

We are holding a design contest, open to all, to design this new banner that will be sold in the honna.org store along with the current Preserve Old Northeast banners. Design submissions are due by April 10, so put on your thinking cap and put pen to paper.

The banner needs to recognize the centennial home so people will know the home sporting the banner is 100 years old.

Additional design requirements include:

  • “Historic Old Northeast” verbiage
  • The signature hex block depiction or the Historic Old Northeast neighborhood monument

The motif should be suitable for printing a full size (34 inches x 42 inches) nylon banner along with a 12×18 garden flag.

Finalists will be posted on www.HONNA.org and neighbors will be able to vote on their favorite design.

The winner will receive a $100 gift card. HONNA will promote the winning design on www.honna.org, social media, and in the Northeast Journal.
