It was a typically hot July 4th in St. Petersburg, but that didn’t stop several hundred Old Northeast patriots from marching in the annual Children’s Parade on Coffee Pot Boulevard. Residents large and small began gathering at Coffee Pot Park at 9:00 that morning to enjoy cookies and liquid refreshments. Kids also mingled with firemen and their big red firetruck from the Old Northeast station and a local police cruiser. The two- block parade kicked off promptly at 10:00. Besides the Old Northeast residents decked out in red, white, and blue, the parade included the music and marching prowess of the St. Petersburg ROTC, along with the Florida Fife and Drum Corp.
