March 24

Bud Comstock

345 18th Avenue NE

Bud Comstock was very familiar with St. Petersburg before purchasing his Old Northeast home a year ago. He had been coming to the city for a number of years but didn’t decide to put down roots here until he saw the mid-century home at 345 18th Avenue NE for sale by owner.

The cement block and stucco home was in good shape and had been recently updated by the previous owners, including an updated kitchen, new front porch and additional bedroom by utilizing half of the 2- car garage.

Why 18 th Avenue NE? “I’ve always liked the street,” Bud says. “I like the variety of home styles and sizes
on the street, and folks seem to take impeccable care of their landscaping.”

Bud says he may make some changes to the home to make it more his style, but the jury is still out on that one. “I’ve had some architectural plans drawn up, so we’ll see.” In the meantime, Bud says he’s loving his new old home, the neighborhood and is looking forward to welcoming his Old Northeast neighbors at his first porch party.

Porch party attendees will be treated to live musical entertainment by Zaxophone, a baritone saxophone player Bud first encountered on the Pier. So come out Friday evening, March 24, and help welcome Bud to the neighborhood!

Note: Old Northeast porch parties are usually held the third Friday of each month, but this month St. Patrick’s Day fell on the third month so in order not to compete with the holiday, we rescheduled the March party to the fourth Friday. Hope to see you there!
